Beauty Tuesday - 3 Primers that Will Rock Your World!

Beauty Tuesday - 3 Primers that Will Rock Your World!

Priming is new to some women and old hat to other but it is so important that you use a good primer to get your face ready like an artist prepares a great canvas. I chose 3 of my favorite primers for you. I wanted to make sure I gave you 3 great optional that 3 different price points because I know budgeting is so important for many of us.

On the other hand with makeup you get what you pay for. Am I saying that the most expensive thing is what you should buy? Only if it is what is best for your skin. You have to keep your skin health in mind at all times which is one reason you choose a primer.
My personal top 3 reasons for using a primer is to smooth my skin and seal my pores before I apply my makeup as well as helping my face makeup to last longer. It is so important to me that 3 hours after I put my makeup on I still look good you know. We spend a lot of money and time on our personal beauty so yes primer is one more thing to buy but it will help everything smooth out and be sealed!

Liz is wearing +Maybelline Baby Skin primer in this picture at her photo shoot on location in Daytona Beach, FL. She and fellow makeup artist Heather Randall collaborated to create a natural but glamorous look with +Urban Decay Cosmetics Naked 2 & 3 palettes as well as +Kleancolor lipstik & +The Body Shop UK foundation.

Makeup Monday: 5 Primers You Will Love!

5 Primers You Will Love! #MakeupMonday #BeautyBlogger #Primers

5 Primers You Will Love! #MakeupMonday #BeautyBlogger #Primers by lizeverettstyle featuring too faced cosmetics

Hey Girlfriend,

I am so excited to share with you this Makeup Monday! I am crazy about +Too Faced Cosmetics primers! I use their eye and face primers. I first found it a few months ago when I picked up the beauty blogger sample kit at +Sephora  this past February and now I am hooked 100%. It is so effective for pictures and also for covering my pores and blemishes.

What is a makeup primer?

According to WiseGeek.com a makeup primer is a cosmetic designed to smooth and conceal fine lines and uneven skin texture. Much like primer for painting, it ensures that a person has a smooth, even, uniformly colored surface on which to apply cosmetics, and helps them adhere properly to the skin. It's generally made from materials such as waxes, polymers, and silicone, and often contains extra ingredients for SPF protection. There are a variety of area-specific and problem-specific primers: for instance, one for lips can keep lipstick from feathering, and a tinted one can make a splotchy complexion look better. Though makeup can look fine without using these products, it generally won't last as long and may not have quite as polished a look.

When I need to bring in the big guns though like for my under eyes I use MAC Cosmetics Prime & Prep. It is a number one amazing experience and I am in love with the coverage as well as control I have when I use it. I am so excited to share it with you as well as the other primers in the top 5 list!

So many of you may think that is great but is it necessary. In my opinion yes it is for sure necessary! You want to make sure you have a long lasting foundation experience. For me my experience has been that my foundation lasts longer and I look so much better in pictures because my foundation is smooth.

Going back to MAC Prime & Prep I use either a foundation brush or my clean fingers to apply it. A simple sweep makes it perfect and I am ready to apply my foundation. I hope you love it as much as I do!

Success & Beauty,
xo Liz

5 Great Palettes for Spring #Beauty #BeautyBlogger by lizeverettstyle featuring LORAC

It is time to get gorgeous for spring! I am all about eye shadow as you all know. I love a smokey eye at every time of day but I also love having a choice when it comes to colors so palettes are the way to go for me. These 5 palettes I chose are my favorite for the base colors we all need to make the bright vibrant colors of spring really stand out.

These colors are from the Revealed palette by +Coastal Scents Makeup which is a great brand that is very affordable in price. If you notice I chose eyeshadow palettes from different price ranges to be sensitive to people's budgets but I will tell you that in my experience doing hair and makeup +Coastal Scents Makeup+Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, Lorac, and Smashbox are outstanding with their lasting power.

Ask Liz #BBCream #CCCream #TopPicks #Advice by lizeverettstyle featuring Smashbox

I am so excited to share the first ASK LIZ because I love answering your questions! This will be a great opportunity for me to help you get all the information you will need to get your gorgeous back with Liz Everett Style. I get to start with a beauty question from a friend of mine the really is having trouble with shopping for cosmetics. Girlfriend you know that is the vain of our existence when a new product comes out and we have no idea where to start.

Q: I keep seeing BB & CC Creams on all the shelves at the drug store and in magazines. What is the difference and how do I know which one to buy?
Amanda B., Florida

A: It all depends on what you want as far as coverage. BB creams are considered a multi-tasking agent that serves as a primer, tinted moisturizer and many things all in one. All BB Creams have a great broad spectrum of SPF coverage and are very light feeling on the skin. Created 50 years ago in Germany by Dr. Catherine Schrammek BB cream was originally created to heal skin after skin peels.

My Top 5 BB Cream Picks:
1. Garnier BB Cream $20 Available  +ULTA Beauty
I wear this product everyday. Because my skin is a little dry at times I add a dollop of cocoa butter or facial moisturizer to add a little fatness to the formula. It gives me a lot of freedom and serves as a great base for my daily look. It was also listed in Allure as a top pick.

2.  +Bobbi Brown UK Bobbi Brown BB Cream $42 Available  +Neiman Marcus
Picked by +Sephora  as a best for sensitive skin I recommend this formula for aging skin as well.

3. +Smashbox Cosmetics Camera Ready BB Cream $20 Available +Beauty.com
Chosen by +Marie Claire as a top pick and by +Sephora as a best for shine control you can also get this product at Sephora.com

4. +The Body Shop All in One BB Cream $20 Available www.TheBodyShop-USA.com
Also featured by +Marie Claire I love The Body Shop cosmetics as a whole. They have amazing blends, colors and tons of great products to choose from.

5. +Too Faced Cosmetics  Air Buffed BB Creme $39 Available +Beauty.com
I have loved all of the products I used in the past from Too Faced. Their foundations are true to color and airy. I think you will love this formula too!

As for CC creams they are a heavier coverage formula. Developed to cover age spots and acne CC creams is better for people who desire a heavier coverage because BB cream would best be described as a tinted moisturizer.

From discoloration to unhealthy tinting you must first know that CC stands for Color Correction. BB is short for Beauty Calm or Blemish Balm. Where CC cream corrects color and is a heavier coverage BB cream is targeting moisturize and priming.

CC cream is a refined formula. It is a great option for women who want an easy one step coverage rather than multiple steps of great coverage. Both formulas were created to cut out the extra steps but ladies don't forget we all have individual skin needs.

Although I use a great BB cream I am still a concealer junky as well. You have to do what is best for you no matter what kind of formulas or processes you decide are best for you. I would also go to a couple of different cosmetic counters to ask them if you can try some of their different formulas.

My Top 5 CC Cream Picks:
1. Lumene Time Freeze Anti-aging CC Cream $15 Available +ULTA Beauty
No matter what your age is it is time for you to get your gorgeous back. I am a huge fan of formulas that market to anti-aging and are really conscious of the needs of aging skin. This formula was featured by +Marie Claire  as well and will not disappoint.

2. Lorac Cosmetics CC Cream $28 Available +Beauty.com
From amazing lip glosses to foundation formulas be sure to try this formula because it is sure to be a great addition to your beauty routine. Featured as a top pick in +Marie Claire I think you will love this CC cream!

3. Peter Roth Thomas $48 Available +Sephora
Talk about a great line! I first heard of this line from +Platinum Product Junkies about a year ago. Every product in this line is truly amazing. This CC cream was also chosen by +Sephora as a top pick for firming your skin.

4. Olay Tone Correcting CC Cream $19.99 Available +Target
Although Olay is usually a skin care line their foundation formulas are full of moisture and highly recommended for anti-aging as well as skin correction. Picked by +Allure as a feature in the 17 Best BB & CC Creams this formula is a great value.

5. Stila Cosmetics Stick CC Cream $38 Available +ULTA Beauty
I love stick foundations and this CC Cream is a sure bet. Stick foundations in all forms give you a great camera ready look that may have a heavier coverage but it is also light on the face. This formula was featured in +Marie Claire and is a great way to get a little glam in your makeup bag.
