Motivation Monday

Motivation Monday

Motivation Monday by lizeverettstyle featuring a wall bookcase

Ok so I really had to think of what I could do to take it a step further to inspire my readers. I love all my Liz Everett Style Blog Girlfriends so I want to make sure that we continue to kick off this amazing year with tons of motivations. Remember that we are working this continuing series on personal motivation. I do not want to let you forget about the vision boards we made either.

This week it would be a great idea to revisit your vision board. Visual manifestation is a huge part of success. You have to see yourself as a success to reach your potential. No matter who you are it is imperative that you get out of your own way. If you have not made a vision board get on it! I pinned mine on Pinterest (http://
bit.ly/Jf7Fq9 and I even created this one on +Polyvore

I also wanted to come up with a few book recommendations as well. I think reading things that keep you motivated and focused on the bigger picture is so important. In order to climb a mountain you have to have fuel. When it comes to our goals there are a million ways to get our tanks filled. It takes love, joy, faith, hurt, strength and a bevy of other emotions emotions to create dreams that become a reality.

Yes you can inspire yourself but it is always helpful to have an outside perspective. I often look for my inspiration in the most out of the way places. From personal stories to spiritual and visual guidance I love the idea of motivation in all of it's forms. Last year I met the amazing +Marsha Friedman of +EMSI Public Relations at a Working Women of Tampa Bay event. I bought her amazing book Celebritize Yourself and really took the advice given with in it to heart.

I would definitely advise you to pick up Celebritize Yourself to help you inspire yourself and your brand. It is all about increasing your visibility in the market place and giving bold advice of your entry point in the marketplace from the point of marketability. Even if you are not in business there are always things within your life that you need to take a bold stand point on. Here are my top motivation reads for 2014:

1. It's Your Time by Joel Osteen
2. Style & the Successful Girl by Gretta Monahan
3. Shine by Larry A. Thompson
4. Celebritize Yourself by Marsha Friedman
5. The Truth About Style by +Stacy London

Here's to being fabulously motivated and to having all of your dreams some true!

Ask Liz: How do I loose 10 pounds in 5 minutes?

Ask Liz: How do I loose 10 pounds in 5 minutes?

Ask Liz: How do I loose 10 pounds in 5 minutes? by lizeverettstyle featuring a sleeveless shift dress

Q: I have to go to an event and I delayed my diet. I did not loose the weight I needed to but I still have to go so is there a way to dress myself to make me look smaller? Essentially I want to loose 10 pounds in 5 minutes.

Thanks,
Lea J. ,  CA.

A: WOW! We have all been in those shoes. hahhaaa Gosh girl I can say for sure that I feel your pain. My best advice to you would be know your shape and dress your size. It is so important to dress your size for sure because you do want your clothes to fit but you do not want your clothing to be too tight because you will look heavier than you are.

One of first things you have to do when you want to drop weight visually is embrace your shape! Check out this chart I found on +Pinterest. As I suggested before take a selfie and compare your shape to the shapes found below. Please do not worry about making excuses or any of that with this self assessment it is just for you to know before you shop.

Next start shopping and look for something that draws a line. I love dresses like this one below that is $74 from Alice & Olivia. They draw a line on your body and no matter your size you want to create a visual effect of a line drawn on your body to help camouflage and create shape.  You can do that with a dress like this on or a vest that flows but doing all black is not the answer.

Color and color pop combined with the addition of drawing your shape on is so important. It will help you to feel like visually you have achieved that shape you so desire. Don't feel bad about the weight. I encourage you to be healthy no matter what. If you want to loose weight do it in a healthy way not for an event. You have to make health a lifestyle choice. Being beautiful is possible at any size so I encourage you to know your body and strive to be fabulous!

Black and white is a sure bet this season and as spring begins to peak in you will definitely want to count on. Be sure to keep an eye out for a great black and white dress that hugs you curves and truly gives you the silhouette you want to showcase.

At the end of the day all style and fashion is about silhouette. This about the overall picture as you shop. Throw the color pop in your lips and accessories or even you clutch.

Accessorize #WardrobeWednesday

Accessorize #WardrobeWednesday

Accessorize #WardrobeWednesday by lizeverettstyle featuring a statement necklace

If you are afraid of accessories I totally get it but it is a crazy fear because accessories are the spice of life! A great color pop or delicate dangle can take your outfit from drab to fab. In order to help those of you who are feeling fashionably challenged when it comes to accessories I can up with 5 easy rules to remember when you get dressed.

Liz Everett Style 5 Rules to Accessory Success:

1. Have Confidence with Your Accessory Choice!
Confidence is most amazing thing a woman can have no matter the situation. Especially when you  are dressing for success you don't want to be afraid to give it your all. Find  new accessory sites and check out the accessory department of your local store. Make sure you have the basics like pearls, rhinestone studs, hoops in gold and silver, a great watch and then branch out from there.

2. Color Pop Never Goes Out of Style!
You can never out do a fabulous color pop! I love a red color pop with a red lip like +NARS Cosmetics Red Lizard available at +Sephora and +Beauty.com in combination with a black and white outfit. You can do a color pop with a color or a patter but be careful not to overwhelm. So think of earrings and a bag or a statement necklace and a bag to get you started.

3. Big Earrings, Big Bracelet
For a Girls Night Out like Shecky's, a charity event, or a red carpet event like +Wine Women & Shoes Atlanta or Tampa you want to dress to impress. Let's say you either have nothing to wear or you are just nervous about how to accessorize in a more glamorous way. I would recommend that you pick a little black dress or the new fabulous little red dress and then hit them with the a popping chandelier earring and a big bangle or bracelet. Keep it classy with a clutch and a strappy heel that is either neutral or a metallic.

4. Statement Necklace is So Hot!
Every glamour girl on the scene including +Sofia Vergara is killing it with a statement necklace. You have got to catch this trend! +BaubleBar  started my obsession with statement necklaces and I am sure you will love it as well. There is not a time or place that statement necklaces are not appropriate! Wear your statement necklace day or night, to work or on a date. Do not be afraid of the size either. The bigger the better!

5. Go Glam or Die Trying!
Get out of you norm and be like Nike! Just do it!

What my Twitter Fashionistas & Industry Pros Are Saying:

Limit to one oversized accessory per outfit to keep it chic xx

Just ask us! We'll your world with confidence!

Beauty Tip Tuesday: Exfoliate #MyPicks #Beauty

Beauty Tip Tuesday: Exfoliate #MyPicks #Beauty

Beauty Tip Tuesday: Exfoliate #MyPicks #Beauty by lizeverettstyle featuring an exfoliating facial cleanser

No matter the season exfoliating is so important the health and luster of your skin. I know you are a little confused seeing the star bucks coffee on the illustration but I use coffee as my weekly facial scrub. I discovered how amazing coffee is to exfoliate to on a business trip. I was in the hotel room and my skin as just not looking fabulous. I was desperate to find something to help me because I had to be down for a function. Every woman hated that moment when your foundation is looking goopy because your skin is not kicking that day.

I ripped open the bag of coffee I found by my hotel coffee machine and used it one my face while i was in the shower. I felt so rejuvenated! The caffeine is good for your skin and it totally invigorates my skin. It does not take a lot I apply warm water to my face and scoop about a spoonful out of the bag. I use circular motions to make sure that I get my skin well exfoliated. My makeup goes on super smooth after that. My preferences are Folgers Coffee and +Starbucks Coffee.

I also love Bliss Lemon + Sage Body Scrub available at +Sephora and beautybar.com for purchase. I discovered Bliss products last time I was in Los Angeles. Of course the Bliss products were in my hotel room and after that I was in love! Smooth, nourishing and cleansing are the words I would use to describe all of the Bliss skincare products.

I also like Dermalogica exfoliating facial cleanser and of course the classic St. Ives apricot scrub. Once a week girls you have got to get to scrubbing. It is all about creating a smooth canvas for your life. Do not just scrub your face though. Your whole body needs a great scrubbing so that you can resurface and prepare for a great moisturized experience. You can not leave out moisture!

What's Your Story #SouthHillDesigns

What's Your Story #SouthHillDesigns #lockets #Jewelry

What's Your Story #SouthHillDesigns #lockets #Jewelry by lizeverettstyle on Polyvore

The first thing I should tell you about myself is that I am fool for a locket, charm bracelet or a scrapbook. I love memories and I so value the time i spend with my family. My passions rule my life. I was actually thinking on the way home today that the most important thing in my life is living with a sense of vigor. We have all in some way spent way too long holding ourselves back so it is time to step forward with South Hill Designs to help you encapsulate your passions.

I was introduced South Hill Designs this past Fall in Atlanta. At a trade show type of event one of the other vendors set up across from me had these amazing  lockets. I loved that each and every on of the locket frames had character. The square framed locket is my favorite as well as the grace charm featured below!

As I started flipping through the catalog I literally started falling in love with the different textures, tones and fashionable ways to take your story with you. My story is so important to me as I am sure yours is to you. I think it is that piece of each one of us that feels like we are more below the surface of our skin. The part of us that desires to show that we are not the book that can be judged by our cover. I know that that is for sure why I love South Hill Designs so much!

I connected with Stephanie Jones the South Hill Designs Independent Artist right away. I loved the way she was wearing her locket pieces and the amazing black leather wrap bracelet I now own as well. The leather wrap bracelet comes in three different shades and is probably one of the most essential accessory pieces any of us could have. A piece to throw on with blue jeans and a great boot or a wrap dress and ballet flats I rock my black leather wrap from South Hill Designs almost everyday.

I also got the locket bracelet as a birthday present from my best friend and I am such a sucker for a piece of jewelry like this that makes you feel like you are one of a kind. In my locket bracelet I have the vintage cross, red lipstick, the red high heel, and the angel wing. Of course each piece has a huge significance but none more important than the angel wing. My father passed this past October and it is my way of carrying him with me.

From trendy  to fabulous I think you will love South Hill Designs. Telling your story is important and I love seeing you rock your story with South Hill Designs.
